WinNC is an advanced file browser that integrates multiple features. In addition to providing a comfortable interface to explore disk contents, it also allows such diverse tasks as synchronizing contents, compressing files and managing media files. Besides, it has advanced built-in search features using name and content, and even complex filters.
Although WinNC´s interface certainly resembles that of Windows default file explorer, it is in many respects more appropriate. Thus, instead of a single navigation panel, you can have two of them in the same window; and since you can have a side-by-side view of the contents of different locations, it certainly helps copy-and-paste operations. Also, you can use tabs to open additional locations. Another advantage of using panels is that you can compare folder contents manually or using the tool´s built-in compare feature. More than just that, it can synchronize folder contents based on various criteria. And, as not only local folders are supported but FTP sites as well, you can use this feature to create remote backups of your files.
The application has built-in viewers for several file types and, when no viewer is available, it shows the file’s contents in binary code. Likewise, it can compress and decompress files using 7zip format. Other supported operations comprise splitting large files or merging them back. Encryptingusing passwords is also possible. Furthermore, there are several features specifically intended for media files, such as creating a playlist and converting between audio formats. Similarly, you can use this application to burn discs and create ISO image files.
All in all, WinNC is definitely a software version of a Swiss-army knife as it helps you carry out almost all common tasks involving files and folders. In fact, it can do the jobs of multiple other applications. Therefore, it is a software product that unquestionably deserves a try.
